Germ Theory: Why We Chose a Provocative Name for a Safer Messenger
Our company name Germ Network emerged from a brainstorm off of the word “grassroots.” Embracing complex systems and autonomous coordination, it names a network that will grow from the ground up, rather than be delegated from the top down. As germination, it evokes the root systems, mushrooms, and rhizhomes that quietly connect our world.

Building for boundaries
Over the next weeks and months, we’ll be pushing features and technical updates that bring Germ out of beta, empowering you to use Germ in more contexts for more kinds of conversations. Before we get into the technical details, it’s worth taking a moment to refocus on our values and goals.

Allow us to reintroduce ourselves…
